Work with an Exceptional Director and Staff

Director ~ Mark F. Lawlor
Mark has roots in Idaho music. Before becoming the Assistant Director of Choral Activities at Oklahoma State University, director of the Stillwater Chamber Singers and choir director at St. Andrew's Episcopal Church, in Stillwater, Oklahoma, Mark was director of choral activities at Idaho State University. While there he conducted the concert choir, the chamber choir and the community-based Camerata Singers in addition to teaching choral conducting, literature and choral methods, voice and organ.

Before his appointment at ISU, Mark was associate director of choral activities and conductor of Choral Union at Arizona State University where he also taught voice and organ. Mark was also a member of the faculty and chair of the music department at Marist College, Poughkeepsie, New York, for 11 years. He held the position of choral conductor at the U.S. Military Academy at West Point for eight years, conducting six of the choirs, traveling extensively throughout the United States and Canada. He has prepared choirs to sing for several U.S. presidents, the Bob Hope Show, and the Kenny Rogers Holiday Tour. His choirs have recorded with New York City Opera soprano Rosemarie Freni, and have sung for Lincoln Center special events programming, as well as the Fox Television Network. In March, 2006, Mark made his Carnegie Hall debut, conducting Mozart's Mass in C major, K. 317 ("Coronation") with MidAmerica Productions.

Mark received his Bachelor of Music degree from Westminster Choir College, Princeton, New Jersey, working under Dennis Shrock and Joseph Flummerfelt. He received his Masters of Music degree from Florida State University, Tallahassee, Florida, where Robert Shaw held the Housewright Music Chair, working under Colleen Kirk and Andre Thomas. Mark is currently an ABD Doctoral student at ASU. Mark resides in Stillwater, Oklahoma, with his wife and two daughters.
